Our events calendar centers on recreational Texas Hold’em tournament nights in Emden. The kitchen stays open, the pace stays friendly, and the chips never convert to money. You come for supper, company, and a structured offline game — not for gambling.

A restaurant first, a tournament table second
We run Aurora as a coastal dining room. On selected evenings the lounge becomes a tournament floor with shared menus, welcome drinks, and a host who explains the structure before the first hand.
The format feels like a small house tournament: timed levels, recreational chips, clear seating, and pauses for food. There is ranking for fun within the night, but no buy-in money, no cash-out, and no side wagering between guests.

How a tournament night runs
Built so first-timers can follow along without pressure.
Arrival & seating
Guests check in from 18:30. We seat reserved tables, offer a welcome drink, and hand out recreational chips that exist only for that evening’s play.
Rules briefing
A host covers Texas Hold’em basics, table manners, and the no-stakes policy. Players are grouped so beginners are not dropped into a silent advanced table.
Tournament rounds
Play moves in short levels with breaks. Blind increases use chips only. Between rounds, plates and drinks arrive without forcing anyone off the table mid-hand.
Soft close
When levels end, the room returns to open conversation, dessert, and coffee. Guests leave talking about the meal as much as the final table.
Food built for tournament pacing
During poker nights the kitchen serves a set supper or sharing plates that can be eaten between hands: smoked fish boards, seasonal mains that hold temperature, and desserts that do not demand a full reset of the table.
Signature cocktails and zero-proof pours are available throughout. Drivers and guests who prefer a lighter night get the same attention as anyone ordering wine. Ask for the current tournament menu when you book — it changes with the market week.

Rules that keep the night recreational
We play a simplified Texas Hold’em tournament structure. Chips track position in the evening only. Any attempt to introduce real money, side bets, or cash settlements ends participation for that guest.
At the table
Two hole cards, five community cards, best five-card hand. Levels advance on a clock announced by the host.
House ethics
Respectful pace, help for beginners, no coaching deals for money, and staff authority on seating and timing.
